Miranda Cosgrove

So, Miranda Cosgrove. She has been acting for who knows how many years and all of her shows have been huge hits. Recently, she has even come out with her own album, Sparks Fly. She looks like she could be my age (that is to say she looks younger than almost-17) and so do her ICarly co-stars, Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Kress (I don't know for sure but I heard that Nathan's mom is the leasing person at my apartment building- I am very convinced because all of her other children look like him) and, over the past few years, she has skyrocketed herself to international stardom.

But, personally, I am not a big fan of hers. I recently bought her knew album to put on my iPod, and I am starting to regret it. Some of the songs are really nice, don't get me wrong (aka Kissin U and Bam) but others, well...aren't my taste.

The idea of all the songs are overused and many I feel like I have heard before (aka Disgusting and Daydream...I found out she didn't even write these songs!) and it just doesn't seem like the lyrics are really hers. I don't get why all of the Nick and Disney idols are all super singers now (Sterling Knight came as a surprise...as did Mitchel Musso) and between their songs, there is no real contrast. In fact, I looked at all of Mandy's songs and every single one of them is about love. Can't people just write about having fun with your life and not always having to go on and on about how you miss someone or how you arent going back to them or blah blah blabbity blah? And a lot of the new singers are trying to sound like other more famous ones: Like Miranda's song Charlie and Miley Cyrus's song Fly on the Wall: TOTALLY Lady Gaga and Britney Spears.

Now, some of the new singers have purpose behind there voice. Take Miranda's co-star, Jennette McCurdy. Even though she didn't write the song, Jennette sung Homeless Heart to a kid named Cody to help him get through some type of illness or something. But whatever it was, it had purpose and that is why I love Jennette. But some of the songs coming out lately seem rushed and/or having only one purpose: to grow the singer's fame. Taking use back to Miranda.

I think she needs to slow down and take her life one step at a time. She's been in Hollywood for so much of her life I don't think she quite understands the real world, and that will be a problem when, ten years from now, she can't sing and people have moved on to new stars, and she will have to go out into the world and live her life.

All in all, I conclude that Miranda Cosgrove definitely isn't superfanastic.
