A Blog of Random Thoughts

You asked for it, you got it. Altho you might be surprised by what you got. :)

So one of you contacted me saying you wanted to hear my opinion on politics of the late. Well I have a few things to say about that matter.
First: NO ONE CARES ABOUT POLITICS UNLESS SOME CRAZY KID WITH A BLOG DECIDES TO MAKE IT INTERESTING *cough cough* me!!!!!!!!!!
Second: A lot of political leaders out there think they are so smart and they can handle anything because after all it is their job and they think they are so much smarter than people who don't land the job but here is the bottom line: Most of the time they don't know what they heck they are talking about. Like the BP oil spill? Who said they had it under control? BP and the government. Who hasn't fixed it, basically slaughtered thousands of fishing and boating jobs in the gulf, and thinks that its possible to shoot a plug into a tiny target from the surface that is miles beneath the sea? BP and the government. I rest my case.
And Third: Political figures may be vital to keep the world from chaos, but the truth is that they only rule so much of your life. It doesn't really matter what they say; if you don't agree with it, you have a right to speak out about it. That's why so many people from different countries come to the USA to protest on the streets because they are smart and they know that privilege can't be taken away from them in America. Like once I was driving by the supermarket and dozens of asian people silently protested on the streets because THEY KNEW THEY COULD. Also, lately I have been seeing Iran people holding flags and signs in the downtown area, and people know that by the law no one can stop them from doing it. Even if the political leaders were standing right there watching them, they know the ruler is powerless. America is just another great opportunity for people to express what they feel. And guys, just give politics a rest. You make mistakes sometimes; there is nothing wrong with that. I make mistakes WAY more often than most of you. Sometimes the consequences are large. But never regret anything you do in your life.
After all; we're only human. :)

My Poem

This was a poem I wrote in Language Arts class based off of Anne Frank's diary...apparently a lot of people like it so I just thought I would put it up here for people to see (tell me if you like it!):

Banjo Man

When I was young, two years ago
My life was just like whirling snow
I never looked back at the past
I never stopped to think and ask
If I had had the chance to meet
That crippled man upon the street
That crippled man without a name
And all of his meal upon his man
He was very messy, quite bizarre
And on his coat: a yellow star
His soul seemed to take wondrous flight
As he played his banjo through the night
The man had no where to reside
As he sat there on the cold curbside
I passed this man for years on end
Never wondering if he needed a friend
But now the German's force us all
To cramp into these tiny walls
And hide from their cruel, ruthless fists
That make sure Jews cease to exist
So I sit in this confined place
Never to see that old man's face
And I wonder if he is hiding, too
And I wonder now, what I would do
If I had had a chance to meet
That crippled man upon the street

Um yeah that's it I hope you like it! =)

Miranda Cosgrove

So, Miranda Cosgrove. She has been acting for who knows how many years and all of her shows have been huge hits. Recently, she has even come out with her own album, Sparks Fly. She looks like she could be my age (that is to say she looks younger than almost-17) and so do her ICarly co-stars, Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Kress (I don't know for sure but I heard that Nathan's mom is the leasing person at my apartment building- I am very convinced because all of her other children look like him) and, over the past few years, she has skyrocketed herself to international stardom.

But, personally, I am not a big fan of hers. I recently bought her knew album to put on my iPod, and I am starting to regret it. Some of the songs are really nice, don't get me wrong (aka Kissin U and Bam) but others, well...aren't my taste.

The idea of all the songs are overused and many I feel like I have heard before (aka Disgusting and Daydream...I found out she didn't even write these songs!) and it just doesn't seem like the lyrics are really hers. I don't get why all of the Nick and Disney idols are all super singers now (Sterling Knight came as a surprise...as did Mitchel Musso) and between their songs, there is no real contrast. In fact, I looked at all of Mandy's songs and every single one of them is about love. Can't people just write about having fun with your life and not always having to go on and on about how you miss someone or how you arent going back to them or blah blah blabbity blah? And a lot of the new singers are trying to sound like other more famous ones: Like Miranda's song Charlie and Miley Cyrus's song Fly on the Wall: TOTALLY Lady Gaga and Britney Spears.

Now, some of the new singers have purpose behind there voice. Take Miranda's co-star, Jennette McCurdy. Even though she didn't write the song, Jennette sung Homeless Heart to a kid named Cody to help him get through some type of illness or something. But whatever it was, it had purpose and that is why I love Jennette. But some of the songs coming out lately seem rushed and/or having only one purpose: to grow the singer's fame. Taking use back to Miranda.

I think she needs to slow down and take her life one step at a time. She's been in Hollywood for so much of her life I don't think she quite understands the real world, and that will be a problem when, ten years from now, she can't sing and people have moved on to new stars, and she will have to go out into the world and live her life.

All in all, I conclude that Miranda Cosgrove definitely isn't superfanastic.

How to De-Dorkify Yourself

I am a smart person. So, as people probably haven't guessed, I'm not talking about the kind of dork you all are thinking of. Not the suspender-wearing, pocket-protecting sniffling kind you see in movies. No, I'm talking about the biggest dorks of the century. The "populars".
In fact, these people don't even deserve to be called popular. See, I'll look up the definition of Popular right now:
pop-u-lar; adjective:: regarded with favor, approval, or affection by people in general.

Are the "populars" really popular? I think not. In fact, more than half of all middle school students LOATH them. OK, I think we can all admit, even though we hate their guts through and through, that a little part of us would die to be besties with them. So here is a tip if you are one of those Gucci-wearing girls blowing kisses to cute guys and shopping at places most people can't afford, here are a few tips.
It's totally OK to be that kind of person with that certain lifestyle, but don't overdo it. Don't be mean to people who aren't like you. DON'T GET CAUGHT UP IN YOURSELF.
Sure, it's fun to talk about people behind their backs and everything, BUT PEOPLE ARE SMARTER THAN YOU THINK. Hurting people's feelings makes you the biggest dork on the planet.

Take my advice. School is a democracy. Don't turn it into a mini World War II.
